About George
George is a city within the Western Cape of South Africa, on the south side of the beautiful Outeniqua Mountains, with around 157,400 inhabitants.
George lies on the coastline roughly 300 km east of Cape Town on the famous Garden Route. George is the financial capital of the Garden Route. In the region, landmarks, for instance, the vast beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna featuring a fabulous lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009.
The native woodlands with magnificent old yellowwood trees and other tree types, the stunning fynbos with dozens of kinds of proteas, ericas and heaths and a large selection of fern species attract vacation goers and holidaymakers who appreciate nature and scenery.
