About George
George is a city in the Western Cape of South Africa, on the south side of the breathtaking Outeniqua Mountains, with about 157,400 residents.
George is situated the coast roughly 300 km east of Cape Town on the famous Garden Route. George is the economic capital of the Garden Route. Locally, attractions for example, the large beaches of Herolds Bay, Victoria Bay and Wilderness, the ostrich town of Oudtshoorn and Knysna with its exquisite lagoon, have been part of the Garden Route National Park since March 2009 .
The native woodlands with beautiful old yellowwood trees along with other tree species, the attractive fynbos with dozens of varieties of proteas , ericas and heaths and a large number of fern species draw in vacation goers and holidaymakers who like the great outdoors and scenery.
